Iowa's definately at the top, engines and propulsion, speed and manuverability, firepower and firing systems, armor and radar systems. The main reasons is the quality and effectivness of these systems vs the other ships that were not American.

Each one of those carriers needs 100 plus Aster 30s and at least 400 anti missile drones or it will be very weak . Do not rely on piquet vessels to defend a flight deck or the CIWS systems. Love from 🇬🇧

GF class is superior in its function. QE class pioneering in Automation and less crew requirements, as well as the Twin Island design that many other countries plan to copy in their future carrier designs.

The Iowa class was a marvel in its design. It was the backbone of the US and Allies drive at sea during the WW2 Pacific War. Missouri one of their class was were Gen MacArthur signed as the Supreme Commander of the Allied force for cessure of hostilities bringing the end of WW2.

Not one British ship will ever be controlled by the loathsome EU institutions!

B.t.w, both ships have exceeded 30kts top speed while on trials, though I'd be surprised if that was achieved at f.l.d. and a more likely sustained max speed is c28 - 29kts. The 25kt figure cited here thus merely reflects the usual R.N. reticence re such matters and is in fact always expressed by R.N. spokesmen in the vague form "at least 25kts"

The QE Class vessels are currently, in fact c72,000 tonnes at full load displacement and could each operate a maximum balanced airwing of c60 platforms, all types implying up to maybe 48 x F35B (4 fast jet squadrons) per ship in a 'top end' strike mission airwing. Though whether the parasitical vermin infesting our London establishment political and Civil Service elites will ever be forced to provide the needed number of jets to allow anything approaching this (at min the originally intended 138 x F35B if, say, both ships were deployed concurrently) is, however, quite another matter.

Given a choice of one or the other then obviously the Gerald R Fird class… buuut… it cost was a limiting factor you could have 3 QE class with money left over for significant defensive upgrades instead… this would be a serious consideration! TBH there were several compromises made to the QE class design during the design & development process, I think it was a huge mistake to make some of the cuts they did although it is possible per design to be a CATOBAR capable, which would be for me an essential upgrade. Also I think it was a mistake not to make the QE nuclear powered, not an option for every country to complete but the UK certainly had the capability and expertise to do this. Given the potential of earlier designs I genuinely believe the IK were in a position to build a better carrier that while not having the full complement of aircraft the Ford class does, would have been so good that you genuinely would have had a carrier that would have been much closer to or equal to the Ford in most areas it lacks… but below half the cost, and with the given lower manning requirements would mean you could have 2 for the price of 1 and been muuuuch better off for doing so.

3 QE carriers to one GF carrier but lets be honest here the GF carrier is way a head of our QE class in nearly everything but cost , so depends on what you can afford one carrier in one part of the world or three decent carriers in three locations , we are not the US

QE class adequate for purpose, GF class superior in many ways, but mainly built for the threat of the Pacific ocean where as QE built for smaller conflicts. Both good but maybe QE more flexible design
